I've been building bones and weightmaps for the character in my scraps section and it has been the most fustrating experience I have ever had with a program, The quality control team for lightwave 8 is either a bunch of drunks or possibly a work of fiction. I spent a week trying to change a weightmap on part of his arm (was causing the bone to just sheer his arm off at the elbow rather than bend) and no matter how many times a set a new map, the program kept using the old one. After a week of cursing, banging my head on a wall, and pure seething hatred towards my computer I discovered the most idiotic and fustrating bug I have ever had the misfortune to encounter in a program. When you change a weightmap a dialouge box appears with the name of the bone you selected, a list of maps to select from, and an "ok" and "cancel button". If you press cancel, it doesn't change the map, if you press ok it doesn't change the map either, you have to press the enter key on the keyboard to make it change the map.........god damnit I want 12 hours of my life back.
His bones work to a satisfactory degree now, see my scraps section for a pictoral display of how I'm choosing to constructively react to this.
